Karmen Quakenbush
Age Group Coach
Email
Coach Karmen recently joined the team in
August 2012 shortly after moving to Charleston from Greensboro NC.
She has 10 years competitive swimming experience with various
summer leagues, Southeast Guilford High School and GCY (Greensboro
Community YMCA). Karmen has coached with teams such as the
YMCA Bears, GSA (Greensboro Swimming Association) and Northwest
Guilford High School. One of the main motivations for Karmen in her
coaching career is seeing a child progress throughout a swim
season. Seeing the excitement on their face at a meet when
they make a new top time. Knowing the vital role a coach plays in a
child's swimming experience is something to be cherished. A coach
should always be aware you're not only impacting their swimming
career but making memories as well. Karmen graduated from
UNC-Greensboro in May 2011 with a degree in Recreation and Park
Management and currently works at Heartland of West Ashley Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center in addition to working with the Marlins
and Blue Marlins Group.
